Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a PACU/Operating Room position requiring 2 years of location experience and 2 years of travel experience, along with multispecialty circulating skills.

Details

• position within a Level III Trauma OR in a complex community hospital setting
• Operating Room unit with a 15-bed count and approximately 30-40 patient census per day
• Patient population includes pediatric, adult, and geriatric cases
• 1:1 clinician to patient ratio
• Uses EPIC EMR charting system
• Schedule includes days and evenings, with shifts such as 4x10s, 2x10s, or 2x8s (common start times: 8a-6:30p, 9a-7:30p, 10a-8:30p, 2p-12:30a)
• 36 or 40 hours per week over a 13-week assignment
• Rotational schedule requires 1-2 evening shifts and 1-2 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• No floating required
• On-call required, including 1 holiday call, 2-3 weekday calls, and 1-2 weekend calls per 4-week schedule
• Weekend shifts include an associated on-call period

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license required (no conditional licenses accepted)
• Current AHA BLS certification required
• AHA ACLS and PALS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in one location and 2 years of travel nursing experience required
• BSN preferred
• CNOR certification preferred
• Scrub tech experience preferred
• Skilled in basic aseptic technique and independent circulating
• Multispecialty OR competence required
• Experience with Mako and Da Vinci robotic systems required
• Flu vaccination required with no medical or religious exemptions accepted

Additional Information

• Responsible for circulating independently across multiple surgical specialties
• Provides perioperative care to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
• Works within a Level III Trauma OR environment in a complex community hospital setting
• Local candidates accepted, but those residing within 60 miles of Boston will receive a reduced rate
• RTO must be disclosed at time of consideration
