Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Cardiovascular Unit position requiring cardiac stepdown/PCU experience and current AHA certifications.
Details
- Mixed cardiovascular floor in a hospital setting, housed in a newer tower with in-room monitors
- 24-bed unit consisting of 12 Step-Down beds and 12 Med-Surg beds
- Patient population includes cardiac rehab, pre/post cardiac procedures, and cardiac stabilizations
- Responsibilities include chest tube management, drip management, and a blend of med-surg and stepdown-level care
- May be required to interpret EKGs and monitor cardiac rhythms and rates
- Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current eNLC compact license) required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required — no other issuing bodies accepted
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Cardiac unit experience with stepdown/PCU background required
- Familiarity with chest tubes and vasoactive/cardiac drips required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Collaborates with cardiac rehab, education teams, and interdisciplinary staff on discharge planning and care coordination
- Initiates, regulates, and monitors IV infusions and blood products
- Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period after completing 26 weeks (one extension) before being eligible for another contract
- Compliance with onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, medical requirements) must begin immediately upon offer acceptance — start dates will not be adjusted for non-compliance
