Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab position in an acute care setting, requiring active CA RN licensure, ACLS, and the ability to take call one night per week and up to every other weekend.
Details
- Acute care hospital Cardiac Cath Lab setting with 3 procedure rooms handling approximately 3,000 cases per year
- Patient population includes diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath (high acuity), TAVR, MitraClip, and some peripheral vascular procedures
- Facility is a Chest Pain Center-accredited STEMI tertiary referral center
- Equipment used includes Rotablator, IVUS, Shockwave, Impella, and Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP)
- EMR system is Cerner; Merge Hemodynamics is used specifically for Cath Lab documentation
- Cath Lab is supported by CV Techs or Rad Techs with Cath Lab experience
- Intensivist available in-house; IV Team, RT, and Pharmacy are all available 24/7
- Schedule is three 12-hour day shifts (0700–1930) per week
- On-call required one night per week and up to every other weekend
- Weekend coverage required up to every other weekend
Requirements
- Active CA RN license (Standard or Compact/NLC) required; pending licenses will not be accepted
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Active certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS; pending certifications will not be accepted
- Cath Lab nursing experience required
- Experience with Cerner EMR and Merge Hemodynamics preferred
- Radiation badge required (supplied by agency)
- A valid driver's license is required for consideration to verify legal name
- Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
- Candidates must not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year; those employed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include performing and supporting diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath procedures, TAVR, MitraClip, and peripheral vascular cases in a high-acuity environment
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Unit-specific orientation consists of 2 shifts
- A Relias Dysrhythmia (Dysrhythmia) exam must be passed before an offer can be confirmed; candidates are given 2 attempts, and failure of the second attempt may result in ineligibility at CommonSpirit Sacramento-region and Arizona facilities for 6 months
- A pass/fail sterile technique test for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes is administered on the first day of orientation
- A manager interview is required as part of the selection process
