Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Long-Term Care (LTC) position at a state/government-run skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in Vestal, NY, requiring a valid NY RN license and at least 1 year of LTC or related clinical experience.

- Long-term care setting within a 300-bed state/government-run facility offering skilled nursing, rehabilitation therapies, memory care, and wound care
- Patient population includes residents with Alzheimer's and dementia
- Patient ratio of approximately 1:18–20
- Evening shift, 8-hour shifts (approx. 14:45–23:15), 5 days per week for 40 hours per week
- Every other weekend required upon center request
- Charting via PointClickCare (PCC); prior experience not required
- 16-week contract
Requirements
- Active NY State RN license required — no license encumbrances permitted
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of LTC experience required; candidates with recent rehab, med/surg, or hospital experience will also be considered
- Must be able to pass a medication administration (med pass) test and clinical observation
- Strong attendance, punctuality, and dependability required
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include medication administration and medication passes, monitoring and reporting changes in resident condition, timely documentation, and supervising CNAs on assigned units
- Proof of NY RN license must be provided at the time of consideration
- All time-off requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration — no RTO will be approved after an offer is made
- Candidate cannot request every holiday off
- Any call-outs must be communicated with more than 24 hours of advance notice
- Upon accepting an offer, Relias training modules will be sent via email within 48 hours and must be fully completed no later than 3 days prior to the assignment start date
- Compliance process takes approximately 1.5–2 weeks
- Start dates occur on a bi-weekly basis based on the facility's orientation schedule
- Any solid color scrubs and closed-toe shoes required
- Free on-site parking available
- Local candidates are accepted
