Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position specializing in rehabilitation and neurological patient care, with Epic proficiency and a minimum of 2 years of RN experience required.

Details

• Inpatient Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Specialized rehabilitation unit caring for patients with CVA, TBI, ABI, spinal cord injury, neurological diagnoses, and generalized debility, including post-stroke, post-aneurysm, and post-op surgical patients
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Every 3rd weekend required
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• Floating required between all health system campuses
• Epic EMR experience is mandatory

Requirements

• Active NC RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Epic EMR proficiency required
• Acute care rehab experience preferred
• Skills required include interpretation of laboratory results, medication reconciliation, patient health history and allergy documentation, and vital signs assessment
• Skills required include dressing changes, aseptic/sterile procedure setup, specimen collection (capillary, throat, urine), phlebotomy, and specimen labeling
• Skills required include telephone triage and pharmacy/patient refill request management
• Two professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate

Additional Information

• Provide specialized nursing care to rehabilitation patients including those recovering from stroke, TBI, ABI, spinal cord injury, and other neurological conditions
• All RNs, regardless of specialty, must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during compliance, with two attempts allowed — candidates should prepare in advance as study materials will not be provided by the facility
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
