Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical-Surgical night shift travel position in Alabama, with IV therapy, wound care, and Level II Trauma experience preferred.
Details
- Acute care hospital Med/Surg unit setting
- Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
- Skills required include IV starts, isolation precautions, and wound care/wound vac
- Level II Trauma experience preferred
- Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
- Every other weekend (EOW) required
- Floating required
- Charge nurse responsibilities may be assigned on an as-needed basis
- 30-minute lunch break is mandatory — no skipped meals
Requirements
- Active Alabama (AL) RN license or compact license — pending license accepted
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Fit Test required
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred
- Travel nursing experience preferred
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- Prior permanent employees of the facility are not eligible for this travel assignment
- Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are accepted but may be subject to a different pay rate
- RTO requests are limited to a maximum of 7 days for the duration of the assignment
- Hospital housing is available and highly recommended given the remote location — shared units with private bedrooms and shared common spaces (gender-specific units, no dogs allowed)
- Travelers coordinate directly with the facility for housing arrangements
- The facility offers flight reimbursement (economy class only) for travel to and from the assignment — detailed flight and luggage receipts must be submitted for reimbursement
- Flight itinerary must be provided at least one week prior to start date; the facility will assist with airport pickup upon arrival
