Description

American Traveler is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a 13-week travel contract requiring a minimum of 2 years of nuclear medicine experience and proficiency across a broad range of general and cardiac nuclear medicine procedures.

Details

  • Work in a hospital-based nuclear medicine department with 4 rooms and a dedicated PET/CT suite
  • General nuclear medicine studies include bone, renal, gastric emptying, GI bleed, HIDA, thyroid uptake/scan, parathyroid, and V/Q perfusion scans
  • Cardiac nuclear medicine and SPECT/CT studies performed
  • Daily caseload of 15–18 patients
  • Patient population spans adolescents through geriatrics
  • Schedule is 5x8-hour day shifts from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
  • On-call requirement of one night per week (5:30 PM–6:30 AM) and one weekend per month (24-hour coverage Saturday and Sunday)
  • Epic EMR used; Radiology CT online training completed on unit

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience required; independent, proficient practice expected
  • NMTCB certification required; ARRT preferred
  • Current BLS required
  • Active VA or Compact license required at time of consideration; license required if applicable
  • Proficiency in cardiac studies, bone scans, brain scans, lung scans, renal flow, thyroid studies, SPECT, and myocardial imaging
  • Skills in IV starts, phlebotomy, EKGs, and PACS required
  • PDF copies of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include preparing, administering, and measuring radioactive isotopes for therapeutic, diagnostic, and tracer studies using a variety of radioisotope equipment
  • Duties include preparing stock solutions of radioactive materials and calculating doses for administration
  • Seasoned travelers preferred; first-time travelers with strong, demonstrated experience will be considered
  • Scrub color is Pewter Grey
  • Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1 – March 31); religious or medical exemptions subject to CMS compliance review
  • This is a smoke- and nicotine-free facility
  • All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration; no RTO will be approved after an offer is made
