Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position in Iowa, requiring 24 months of ED experience, active IA or compact RN license, and proficiency with cardiac, insulin, and heparin drips.
Details
- 16-bed Emergency Department unit
- Patient ratio of 3:1
- Emergency patient population including a wide range of critical care and emergency medicine cases
- Telemetry monitoring and reading required as part of daily practice
- Drip/titration management required, including cardiac drips, insulin, and heparin, as well as all critical care and emergency medicine drips
- Epic EMR in use
Requirements
- Active Iowa (IA) single-state or compact/multistate RN license required
- Minimum 24 months of current ED/ER experience required
- Current AHA or ARC BLS certification required
- Current AHA ACLS certification required
- Current AHA PALS certification required
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required (may be obtained during onboarding)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Competency) certification required
- Drip/titration experience required, including cardiac, insulin, heparin, and all critical care/emergency medicine drips
- Telemetry measurement and interpretation experience required
- Valid driver's license required
- Supervisory professional reference or performance evaluation from within the past 24 months preferred
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must reside more than 90 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Grey solid scrubs required
- Travelers are required to work 1–2 of the 3 summer holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day
- Candidates employed by the facility within the 12 months prior to the contract start may not be eligible for consideration
