Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Pediatric Float Pool position requiring Level 1 Trauma experience and the ability to float across multiple children's acute care units on a night shift schedule.
Details
- Hospital-based pediatric float pool position serving multiple children's units
- Float coverage includes a 34-bed PICU, 25-bed CICU, and 112-bed NICU (feeder growers/low acuity only), as well as acute care units including surgical, behavioral health, med specialty (GI, neuro, respiratory), hem/onc, step-down, and cardiac peds
- Night shift, 8-hour days, 5 days per week, 40 hours per week
- Weekends and holidays required
- Float pool RN is first in line for skills assignments across the children's service line
Requirements
- Active OK RN license or a current multistate compact (eNLC) RN license required
- Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association required
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Experience with trach care, high-flow oxygen therapy, and infusion required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
- Full date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include assessing and monitoring patient physiological data, administering medications, initiating and regulating IV infusions and blood products, and assisting physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Nurse will coordinate care plans with patients and families throughout the hospital stay and at discharge
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period after completing 26 weeks (one extension) before being eligible for a new contract
- Compliance requirements are strictly enforced — candidates should be prepared to begin onboarding immediately upon acceptance of an offer
