Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Infusion position at an outpatient oncology clinic, requiring at least 2 years of outpatient chemo infusion experience and a current chemo/biotherapy certification.
Details
- Outpatient infusion clinic setting with 56 infusion chairs
- Patient population includes outpatient chemotherapy, blood product transfusions, enzyme replacement therapy, Remicade infusions, multiple sclerosis infusions, and kidney transplant infusions
- High-volume clinic averaging 180–200 patients per day
- Staffing includes approximately 18–22 nurses per day, supported by a charge nurse and a resource nurse
- Clinical techs are available and handle IV placement and blood draws
- 3x12-hour shifts (7a–7p) per week, totaling 36 hours per week
- Weekend shifts required
- 1 major holiday required
- No on-call or standby requirement
- Travelers are first to float to other campus Infusion Centers, though floating is typically only required when absolutely necessary and the traveler agrees
- EMR: Epic with Beacon module (experience preferred)
- Manager on-site Monday through Friday
Requirements
- Active VA or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification required
- Current chemo/biotherapy card required
- Minimum 2 years of outpatient infusion experience required — must include true chemotherapy infusion experience
- Ambulatory oncology experience required
- Epic EMR experience preferred
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include administering chemotherapy and biotherapy, blood transfusions, therapeutic phlebotomy, and injections
- Care coordination duties include setting up follow-up appointments, ordering labs, and communicating with front desk staff and providers
- Additional responsibilities include patient education, symptom management, and focused assessments
- Navy scrubs required
- Orientation is 1–2 weeks
- Candidates must be flexible and committed to fostering a positive, relationship-focused environment for patients
- 13-week contract
