Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ER Observation Unit position requiring active RN licensure and a minimum of one year of nursing experience, with night shift availability.

- Position is based in an ER Observation Unit within a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule working 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week, 40 hours per week
- 13-week contract assignment
- Travel experience required
Requirements
- Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Minimum of one year of RN experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Basic computer skills required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include assuming care for an assigned patient group, monitoring physiological data, administering medications, managing IV infusions and blood products, and documenting patient responses to interventions and treatments
- Assists physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Coordinates discharge planning and patient/family education on care plans and hospital procedures
- Delegates tasks to support staff and makes referrals to appropriate personnel as needed
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
- Travelers who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation before being eligible for a new contract, as workers may only extend once for a maximum of 26 consecutive weeks
- Compliance with onboarding requirements (drug screens, background checks, and medical documentation) is strictly enforced and must be completed by the facility's deadlines
