Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab position requiring an MD or compact state license, BLS, ACLS, and a minimum of 3 years of experience.
Details
- Works in a 2-lab Cardiac Cath Lab unit capable of performing both cath procedures and device implants, with EP procedures performed exclusively in one dedicated lab
- Procedures include left and right heart caths, PCI (primary and elective), IABP, lithotripsy, atherectomy, pericardiocentesis, temporary pacemakers, TEE, cardioversion, dobutamine stress echos, conscious sedation, CRM device implants, EP studies, and ablations
- Typical staffing on a full-day includes 6–7 nurses covering pre, intra, and post procedural care, supported by 4–5 CCL techs
- EP procedures are performed on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and some Friday afternoons (inpatient only)
- Unit hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM – 8:00 PM
- Shift hours are 8:30 AM – 7:00 PM
- On-call is required with a weekend rotation every 4th weekend and varying weeknight on-call responsibilities
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RN license in Maryland (MD) or a compact state license
- Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
- Minimum 3 years of Cath Lab RN experience required
- Must be able to remain within a 30-minute response distance to the hospital while on call
- Two professional references required
- Copy of Driver's License required for consideration
- Full Social Security Number and full date of birth required for consideration

- Provide pre, intra, and post procedural nursing care across a full range of cardiac cath and EP interventions
- Unit is staffed by 3 main interventionalists and 1 EP physician
- Local candidates are welcome to apply, though candidates residing within the facility's radius may be subject to a different pay rate
- COVID vaccination is not required by this facility

In the mammogram department the managers are kind. The work load is low to steady. The staff is drama free. The schedule/location rarely changes. All and all great place to work.
Cons
Lunches are not always blocked off, only given 45 minutes. So might have to bring ur lunch. And eat at your work station.
