Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical/Surgical unit position requiring a NM or Compact RN license and at least 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience.

Details

• Medical/Surgical unit in an acute care hospital setting
• 32-bed unit with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Day shift schedule, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM (3x12-hour shifts)
• Weekly hours options of 36 or 48 hours available
• 6 weekend shifts required within every 6-week period
• Floating to like units is required; no on-call responsibilities
• Epic EMR used for charting

Requirements

• Active NM or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required (pending accepted)
• NIHSS certification required (pending accepted)
• CPI certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include rapid response team activation as part of unit duties
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted — candidates must apply individually
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before being eligible as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be automatically approved; no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration
