Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a Level 3 NICU position requiring 2+ years of experience and RRT certification, with adult critical care skills also required.
Details
- Primary role in a Level 3 NICU with a 12-week day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 AM-7:00 PM)
- Provides critical care to neonates including intubation for neonates >22 weeks gestational age, arterial blood sampling, and high-risk, low-volume bedside procedures
- Also requires adult critical care skills including intubation, airway management, and arterial line insertion
- Works every other weekend with no on-call requirements
- Floating required within hospital scope of practice and to an additional facility location as needed
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- RRT certification required (CRT not accepted)
- BLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS certifications required
- Community hospital experience required
- Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- License required if applicable
- Two supervisory references (Manager level or above) required for consideration
- Copies of certifications required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, and all RTO must be finalized at time of submission with no changes allowed after offer
- Coverage of major holidays is required based on how many fall within the assignment period, with limited holiday RTO consideration only when three holidays occur during the assignment
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
- Full compliance is required to start on time, as delays may result in a two-week push back due to the biweekly orientation schedule
- Previous perm, per diem, or float staff employees must be away from all facilities within the health system for one full year before applying as a traveler
- Travelers who previously cancelled or received a do-not-return status must complete one successful assignment outside the health system before reapplying
