Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2-3 years of experience for a night shift position at a Level 2 Trauma teaching hospital, with floating between two campus locations.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting with 258 staffed beds, designated as a Level 2 Trauma Center and teaching hospital
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
• Weekend requirement of every other weekend at most, potentially every third weekend
• Floats between two sister campuses as needed
• No on-call requirement
• Charting via Epic (Excellian); Epic experience required
• Olive green scrubs required
• No parking fees at the facility

Requirements

• Current RRT credential required
• Required certifications: ACLS, CRTT, NRP, and PALS
• 2-3 years of respiratory therapy experience required
• Experience with invasive and non-invasive ventilation, ABG collection and analysis, inhaled medication administration, complex oxygen therapy, airway clearance and inflation techniques, and bedside spirometry
• Experience with NICU bCPAP, HFNC, and mechanical ventilation for neonates ≥30 weeks gestational age
• Epic (Excellian) EMR experience required
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Pending state license accepted; license required if applicable
• Minimum 1 supervisor reference required for consideration

• Responsibilities include full-scope respiratory therapy: patient assessment and education, invasive and non-invasive ventilation, ABG collection and analysis, CPR, inhaled medication administration, complex oxygen therapy, airway clearance and inflation techniques, and bedside spirometry
• Position also involves NICU responsibilities including bCPAP, HFNC, and mechanical ventilation for neonates ≥30 weeks gestational age
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Pre-start orientation modules are required to be completed before the assignment begins
• Candidates who have previously worked at the facility as permanent staff or per diem must have been away for at least 3 months since their last shift to be eligible
• RTO requests are ideally limited to no more than 5 days for the duration of the contract
