Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology position requiring 2+ years of IR experience with neuro/stroke procedures and coiling, plus NC or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Work in the Interventional Radiology unit of a tertiary care hospital
- Target ratio of 16 cases per day across three IR rooms with pre and post coverage in the Radiology Pre Post Unit (RPPU) as needed
- Day shift schedule: 4x10 hours, Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-5:30 PM
- 40 hours per week available
- Call requirement includes being within 30 minutes of the hospital, with rotating primary/backup call responsibilities including weekends (24-hour call Saturday and Sunday) and possible holiday coverage
- No floating required
- Weekend requirements based on call rotation
- Uses Pyxis, Epic, and SBAR charting systems
Requirements
- Active RN license (NC or Compact) required, pending license acceptable at time of submission
- Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) also required; PALS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of IR nursing experience required, including neuro/stroke procedures and coiling experience
- Skills in conscious sedation and telemetry required
- Understanding of IR procedures including stroke required
- Preferred skills include circulating and ventilator management experience
- Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required (pending references acceptable at submission)
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care in interventional radiology procedures including conscious sedation monitoring and telemetry
- Support neuro/stroke procedures and coiling cases
- Unit orientation includes 8 hours of hospital orientation during week one, with daily class attendance required
- Scrubs are provided (ceil blue)
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates within 50 miles are accepted at a lower rate
- Former Novant Health or New Hanover employees (PERM/PRN/EP) must wait 12 months before applying and must disclose prior employment details
- Current travel per diem clinicians at this facility are not eligible for travel contracts and must choose one employment type
- RTO up to 7 days can be auto-approved excluding holidays; no RTO permitted during the first week of assignment
- Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
- Travel pairs are allowed if placed on different units with separate schedules and independent transportation
