Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position at a high-acuity Magnet teaching hospital, requiring strong neuro experience and the ability to circulate all cases including cardiac and transplant.

Details

• Position is in the Operating Room of a Magnet-designated, academic teaching hospital with 637 staffed beds
• High-acuity OR environment with 28 rooms and an average daily census of 50–75
• Patient population includes orthopedic/sports (minimally invasive arthroscopic), laparoscopic, robotics, general, GYN, urology, and plastics cases
• Cardiac and transplant case circulation is a core expectation of this role
• Experience in neuro, spine, thoracic, and vascular is a plus
• Floating within the hospital to other specialties when census is slow; no floating to sister hospitals
• Night shift: 4x10-hour shifts, 2100–0730
• No call required
• Weekend requirements TBD
• Charting system: Epic (preferred but not required)
• Scrubs are provided for OR personnel (any color)

Requirements

• Active WA RN license or compact license currently in hand — pending licenses are not accepted
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 3–4 years of OR RN experience required
• Strong neuro OR experience required
• Experience circulating cardiac, transplant, and robotic cases strongly preferred
• Proficiency across multiple OR service lines preferred
• Teaching hospital and trauma hospital experience preferred
• COVID vaccination and booster required — no exceptions
• Two professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• This role functions as the sole circulator and must be willing to circulate all case types
• May be assigned charge nurse duties as needed
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate — no radius restriction
• RTO is not permitted during orientation week and should otherwise be kept to a minimum; maximum of 1 week of RTO per contract
• Prior UW staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 18 months before returning as a traveler
• 13-week minimum contract length; interest in an extended contract beyond 13 weeks is encouraged
