Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a MS/Tele position at a large Level I Trauma Center and Academic Medical Center, requiring ventilator and tracheostomy experience.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital setting within a large Level I Trauma Center and Academic Medical Center with 1,500+ beds
• MS/Tele unit focused on pulmonary patients, including ventilated patients and those undergoing vent weaning
• Ventilator and tracheostomy patients are a primary focus of this unit
• Average patient ratio of 1:5-6, with the possibility of taking up to 5 non-vent patients in addition to vent assignments
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required
• Frequent floating expected between sister units NP1 and EP 4-6
• Block scheduling is not available
• Charting is done in Epic
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Parking is available at a cost of approximately $125/month

Requirements

• Active CT or Compact RN license required (pending license accepted, but must be active prior to start)
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Ventilator management and tracheostomy experience required
• Prior experience at a large Trauma Center required
• RN license must be free of prior disciplinary actions for consideration
• Flu vaccine required; declinations are not accepted
• COVID vaccine required (religious/medical exemptions accepted)
• 1 professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate; local candidates are not accepted for this position
• Former permanent staff of this health system must have been separated for at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler
• Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved by the facility
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
