Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications, with night shift availability and openness to floating between campuses.
Details
- Works in an adult and pediatric Emergency Department, including Ambulance Triage, ED Holding, and Lobby Triage
- Department has 40 total beds, including 29 standard beds and 11 hallway beds
- Performs and assists with advanced ED procedures including breathing treatments, chest tube setup/care, CPAP/BiPAP, procedural sedation, RSI, trach care, and ventilator management
- Administers blood and blood products, performs cardioversion/defibrillation, manages cooling/warming blankets, obtains 12-lead EKGs, and operates rapid infusers
- CRRT/Dialysis experience is required for this role
- Epic EMR experience required
- Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
- Shift start times vary: 0700, 0900, 1200, 1500, and 1900; schedule posted every 6 weeks
- Every other weekend required
- Floating between campuses within the state is expected and required
Requirements
- Active WA RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS
- Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of total employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Active professional license required at time of consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- Former permanent employees of any Providence-affiliated facility must have been separated from the health system for a minimum of 3 months before qualifying, and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
- Candidates who have previously worked at a Providence facility in any capacity (permanent, travel, or per-diem) must disclose the location and dates of that employment
- Refusal to float between campuses may result in termination of the assignment
- Minimal RTO is strongly preferred; excessive time-off requests may impact consideration
- Non-holiday time off: up to 5 days may be added to the end of the contract; requests exceeding 5 days are subject to manager review
