Description
American Traveler is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist with Level 1 trauma acute care experience for an inpatient acute care hospital assignment at a large academic medical center.
Details
- Inpatient acute care setting at a large short-term acute care, academic teaching, Level 1 trauma center with 1,259 staffed beds
- Therapy services provided across a wide range of patient populations including medicine, surgery, orthopedics, neurology, cardiopulmonary, and oncology
- May be utilized across any therapy service line as needed to meet facility needs
- Day shift, Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts from 0700–1530 (start time flexible up to 0800)
- One weekend (Saturday and Sunday) required per 4-week period, with a compensatory day off during that week
- No on-call requirements
- No floating to sister facilities
- Charting performed in Epic; experience required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of Level 1 trauma acute care PT experience required
- Current BLS certification required
- Valid MO State License required; candidates with a pending IL license may be considered (please note pending status)
- License required if applicable
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with a variety of patient populations
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Primary responsibilities include assessment, documentation, patient and family education, and safety and injury prevention across inpatient acute care areas
- Black or grey scrubs required
- No more than 7 days of RTO permitted within the 13-week contract; no RTO during the first week of orientation
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Allied travelers may work up to 12 months before a required 6-month break in service
- Monthly parking passes are available on-site; additional parking information provided during orientation
