Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro Critical Care Unit (NCCU) position requiring advanced hemodynamic monitoring experience and recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma experience.

Details

  • 36-hour work week in a 10-bed Neuro Critical Care Unit (NCCU) — the only neuro critical care unit in Northern New England
  • NCCU patient population includes Primary Stroke Center cases (ischemic thrombectomy, TPA, hemorrhagic with ventriculostomies and emergent evacuation), neuro surgery (tumor resections, brain/spine abscesses), and neuro-medical conditions (meningitis, encephalitis, neuromuscular disorders)
  • Floating to the SICU and other critical care units is required as needed
  • SICU is an 18-bed unit serving surgical, trauma, neuro, plastics, multiple organ failure, and sepsis patients
  • Procedures and equipment include ICP monitoring, ventriculostomies, lumbar drains, bolts, EVDs, PA lines and waveform interpretation, ventilator management, pressors/inotropes/vasoactive medications, and line/tube/drain management for post-surgical patients

Requirements

  • Active NH or Compact RN license required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma experience within the last 2 years required
  • Advanced hemodynamic monitoring experience required
  • Experience with ICP monitoring, ventriculostomies, lumbar drains, bolts, and EVDs required
  • Experience managing ventilated patients, pressors, inotropes, and vasoactive medications required
  • Experience with line insertion, maintenance, and management of lines/tubes/drains for post-surgical patients required
  • Two references from managers required for consideration
