Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg/PCU night shift travel assignment in Warrenton, VA, requiring 2+ years of nursing experience and active VA or Compact RN license.

Details

• Combined MS/PCU unit in a 97-bed acute care hospital with 30 total beds across two floors, plus 6 additional overflow beds
• Adult patient population with common diagnoses including post-op joint replacement, ACS, CHF, COPD, pneumonia, GI issues, and renal failure
• Patient ratio of 5–6:1
• Night shift, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• Rotating weekend hours required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required between two floors as this is a combined MS/PCU unit
• Equipment used includes Baxter pumps, Omnicell, and Spacelabs monitors
• EMR: Meditech — experience required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active VA or Compact RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) — AHA-issued certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher required
• Experience with Meditech EMR required
• Required clinical skills: BiPAP, orthopedic surgery patients, telemetry, non-titrating cardiac drips, and dialysis patients
• SSN and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Care for a diverse adult medical-surgical and progressive care patient population, including post-cardiac cath patients (preferred experience)
• Post-cardiac catheterization care experience is preferred
• Candidate's permanent address must be more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates who are currently employed full-time elsewhere are not eligible
• Navy scrubs required
