Description
American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for an IMC Cardiovascular (Telemetry) unit position requiring at least 1 year of relevant nursing experience and current AHA-issued BLS and ACLS certifications.
Details
- Work setting is an Intermediate Care (IMC) Cardiovascular unit — not a stepdown unit
- Patient population consists of cardiac and telemetry patients
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is 5:1 to 6:1 depending on staffing
- Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RN license in Louisiana or a valid compact license required
- Current BLS certification from the AHA required
- Current ACLS certification from the AHA required
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty
- SSN required for consideration (Canadian SIN not accepted)
- 2 professional references required for consideration
- Copies of all active certifications required for consideration (expired certifications will result in disqualification)
Additional Information
- Provides nursing care using the full nursing process — assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — for assigned patients
- Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness
- Addresses psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
- Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
- Assesses and provides education to patients, families, and caregivers, identifying issues and available resources
- BSN is preferred but not required
- All newly hired RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days
- New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member with competency validation completed at the bedside
- Temp-to-perm conversion is a possibility
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
