Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 1 year of experience for a night shift, 13-week travel contract in a cardiopulmonary department.

Details

• Work in a cardiopulmonary department at an acute care hospital
• Night shift hours: 5:45 PM – 6:15 AM on a rotating schedule (Week 1: Wed, Thurs, Fri; Week 2: Mon, Tues, Wed)
• 36 hours per week
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active IL Respiratory Therapist license required (license required if applicable)
• RRT certification required
• Current certifications required: BLS/BCLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS
• Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience preferred
• Strong computer skills with the ability to navigate EMR systems
• DOB and SSN may be required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform comprehensive respiratory assessments and reassessments across diverse patient populations, including age, cultural, and psychosocial considerations
• Determine and administer treatment plans including therapy type, duration, medications, and dosages in accordance with physician orders
• Monitor patient physiological responses such as vital signs, ABGs, and blood chemistry; consult with physicians if adverse reactions occur
• Conduct diagnostic tests including Holter monitoring, cardiac monitoring, and lung capacity tests to evaluate cardiopulmonary function
• Maintain, clean, and calibrate respiratory care equipment on a routine basis
• Complete accurate and timely documentation in both electronic and paper patient records
• Participate in performance improvement activities and adhere to established safety and hand-off communication protocols
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and demonstrate strong communication and customer service skills
