Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a day shift position in a cardio-respiratory unit, requiring at least 1 year of experience and the ability to work independently with critical care patients.

• Cardio-respiratory unit at an acute care hospital in Lewisville, TX
• 191-bed facility with a day shift team of 1 supervisor and 3 staff
• Patient population spans multiple acuity levels including ICU, PCU, ED, and general floors
• Equipment used includes Servo I, Servo U, V60, Hamilton C-1, Airvo, Volara, and Vest
• EMR: Meditech
• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Rotating weekend coverage required
• Floating required to ICU, PCU, ED, and general floors
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RRT license and certification required; license required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in respiratory therapy
• Active ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required (AHA or ARC accepted; certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment)
• Must be able to work independently with critical care level patients
• Must be able to triage and manage patients across multiple levels of care
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required (two references required if licensed in Florida or Missouri)
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible

Additional Information

• Typical procedures include nebulizer treatments, vent checks, BiPAP checks, ABG draws, intubation assist, extubation, bronchoscopy assist, PEP therapy, lactate draws, EKGs, and patient assessments
• Level 3 NICU experience is preferred
• Team player with a kind and compassionate personality is the ideal fit for this unit
• Black scrubs required
• Allied candidates must have 6 months of active experience within the last 6 months in the role they are applying for
