Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU (Progressive Care Unit) position at an academic medical center in Ohio, requiring 2+ years of PCU experience and an OH or compact RN license.

Details

• 22-bed PCU at an academic teaching hospital in Ohio
• Adult and geriatric patient population
• Common cases include burns, plastic/reconstructive surgery, urology, GYN, ENT, and oral/maxillofacial surgeries
• Special procedures include burn dressings, flap checks, and leech therapy
• 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Every other to every third weekend required
• Floating within the health system is required
• Epic EMR and Pyxis medication system in use

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU experience required
• Experience with similar patient populations (burns, reconstructive surgery, urology, GYN, ENT) preferred
• Previous charge RN experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• 2 professional references required: at least 1 from a Manager, Director, or formal leadership role (e.g., Supervisor); a Charge RN is acceptable as the second reference; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• This is a 13-week travel contract
• Local candidates are accepted
• Former employees of this facility are eligible to apply once they have been away for at least 6 months
• Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration and is limited to 7 days or less for the contract duration
• All candidates must complete Ohio state fingerprinting promptly after accepting an offer — candidates outside of Ohio will need to travel to an in-state fingerprinting location or may receive a mailed fingerprinting packet to be completed urgently
