Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and an active WV or compact RN license.

Details

• Hospital Med/Surg Telemetry unit — an expanding unit
• Patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:6 (subject to fluctuation based on census and staffing)
• Meditech EMR
• Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, on a rotating 36/48 schedule (alternating 3x12 and 4x12 weeks)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within scope of practice

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license currently in hand — required at time of consideration, no exceptions
• Current certifications required: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of current Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience required
• Driver's license with address matching permanent address required
• Two professional references required: at least one charge nurse or higher, and one supervisor reference — both completed within the last year
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility (local candidates are not eligible)

Additional Information

• Must be willing to work a rotating 36/48 schedule (one week of 3x12 shifts, the following week 4x12 shifts) — candidates unable to accept this schedule may be cancelled
• Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated
• Up to 7 days of RTO may be considered; RTO must be submitted upfront and no changes will be accepted after submission
• Must be available to work at least one major or minor holiday per contract
• Orientation is held bi-weekly
• Travelers who have worked within this health system for one year must take a minimum 6-month break before returning
• Travel pairs are accepted on a limited basis; pairs will not be placed on the same unit or shift
• Middle name is required for consideration; confirmation of no middle name must be provided if applicable
