Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring prior travel experience, active SC or Compact RN license, and a minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg experience.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital (97 staffed beds) with a dedicated Med/Surg Tele unit
• Patient ratios of 1:6–1:7
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7p–7a)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating to like units with like patients is required to meet facility needs
• Charting via Epic
• Parking is provided at no cost

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or Compact RN license; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must have the license active prior to start
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
• Telemetry experience preferred, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• All required onboarding modules must be completed prior to the start date; modules are completed pre-start
• Attendance at staff meetings is required
• Candidates who are currently or were recently (within the past year) permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location are not eligible to apply as a traveler until 1 year after separation
• Local candidates (within 60 miles of the facility) are accepted; non-local candidates are prioritized
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration; approval is based on facility needs
• During hurricane season (June–November), all staff and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
