Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position on a Renal unit, requiring at least 2 years of experience and an active AL or Compact RN license for night shift work.
Details
- 36-bed inpatient renal unit caring for patients with acute and chronic kidney disease, including those requiring renal replacement therapy
- Specializes in post-hemodialysis and ongoing peritoneal dialysis care
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage required as assigned
- Floating to other units and hospitals required
- EMR: Meditech (experience not required)
Requirements
- Active AL or Compact RN license required — no pending or temporary licenses accepted
- No hits (past or current) on nursing license
- Current BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross
- Minimum Associate's Degree in Nursing
- At least 2 years of RN experience, with a minimum of 1 year of recent experience in Med/Surg Telemetry
- NURSYS license verification required
- Current driver's license required for consideration
- Two professional references from within the last year required for consideration

- Works closely with community nephrologists, family practice providers, and hospitalists to coordinate renal patient care
- Supports patients throughout their care journey, from diagnosis through treatment
- No pre-start HealthStream modules required — competency-based modules are completed during virtual orientation
- RN candidates will receive a Cardiac Exam link after accepting an offer (link expires within 24 hours)
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rates with no radius restrictions
- Solid navy scrubs required
