Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a General Surgery position at a Level II Trauma Center in Reno, NV, requiring 2 years of trauma OR experience and an active NV RN license
Details
- Level II Trauma Center with a volume and pace comparable to a Level I facility, serving a 500-mile regional radius
- General Surgery OR department with 18 ORs
- Patient population spans neonates to geriatrics
- Common procedures include trauma, neurosurgery (ACDF, spinal fusions, craniotomies), Da Vinci Xi robotic surgery, urology, vascular, open heart, general surgery, trauma orthopedics, pediatrics, plastics, and ENT
- Schedule: 4x10-hour shifts, Monday–Thursday, 0645–1915
- On-call is required
- Epic EMR used; training available during orientation or candidates may test out
Requirements
- Active NV RN license required prior to start; RNs who have never held a NV temp or permanent license may still be considered but must apply immediately upon offer
- Current AHA certifications required: BLS and ACLS
- Completion of Competency Assessment (CMP) within 1 year of start date required for Pre-op/Recovery RN, PACU, OR, and SDS roles
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a trauma OR setting required
- Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Responsible for individualized patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation across the full episode of care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and their families
- Coordinates care with other healthcare professionals as needed
- Coverage for a minimum of 2 major holidays is required
- Blocked scheduling is not permitted
- Travelers who have previously worked at this facility must take a 13-week break after their contract ends before returning
- Any requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed prior to consideration
- 13-week contract duration
