Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool position requiring at least 2 years of Peds ICU experience and an active SC or compact RN license.
Details
- Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool position within a children's hospital
- Floats to all pediatric units within the facility, including CVPICU, NICU, and PICU
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- 36 hours per week
- Patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:3
- Minimum of 3–4 weekend shifts per schedule block
- Holiday rotation required
- Epic EMR (experience not stated as required)
Requirements
- Active SC RN license or multi-state/compact RN license — candidates with a pending SC license may be considered, but must have the active license before starting
- Current AHA-issued certifications required: BLS and PALS
- Minimum 2 years of Peds ICU experience required
- ECMO and CRRT experience preferred
- SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
- 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply, provided they meet the required experience
- Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
- Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized, though local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis
- All RTO requests must be submitted at the time of consideration and are subject to unit needs
- Block scheduling may be requested but is subject to manager approval and unit needs
- Online modules must be completed prior to the start date
- Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response duties; peak activity months are August and September
