Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool position requiring at least 2 years of Peds ICU experience and an active SC or compact RN license.

Details

• Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool position within a children's hospital
• Floats to all pediatric units within the facility, including CVPICU, NICU, and PICU
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• 36 hours per week
• Patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:3
• Minimum of 3–4 weekend shifts per schedule block
• Holiday rotation required
• Epic EMR (experience not stated as required)

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or multi-state/compact RN license — candidates with a pending SC license may be considered, but must have the active license before starting
• Current AHA-issued certifications required: BLS and PALS
• Minimum 2 years of Peds ICU experience required
• ECMO and CRRT experience preferred
• SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
• 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply, provided they meet the required experience
• Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
• Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized, though local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• All RTO requests must be submitted at the time of consideration and are subject to unit needs
• Block scheduling may be requested but is subject to manager approval and unit needs
• Online modules must be completed prior to the start date
• Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response duties; peak activity months are August and September
