Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool RN for a 13-week night shift travel assignment requiring a minimum of 2 years of Peds ICU experience and an active SC or compact RN license.
Details
- Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool position within a children's hospital setting
- Float RN responsibilities span all pediatric units within the facility, including CVPICU, NICU, and PICU
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 36 hours/week
- Patient ratios: 1:2 to 1:3 depending on unit needs
- Minimum of 3–4 weekend shifts required per schedule period
- Holiday rotation required
- EMR: Epic
Requirements
- Active SC RN license or Multi-State/Compact RN license — candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must have an active SC license prior to start
- Current AHA-issued BLS and PALS certifications required (American Heart Association only)
- Minimum 2 years of Pediatric ICU (PICU) experience required
- ECMO and CRRT experience preferred
- SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply provided they meet the required experience criteria
- Candidates who have previously worked as permanent staff or PRN at any MUSC location must have been separated from the MUSC system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
- Local candidates (within 60 miles of the facility) are accepted on a case-by-case basis; non-local candidates are prioritized
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration and is subject to approval based on unit needs
- Block scheduling may be requested but requires manager approval and is dependent on unit needs
- Completion of online modules is required prior to the assignment start date
- Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak hurricane activity occurs in August and September
