Pros
Charting is minimal. Admission charting simple. Residents/ admitting provider does med reconciliation. Charge RNs are supportive and helpful. House sups are helpful. Very travler friendly. Providers put in their own orders minimal verbal orders. Housing easy to find. Cute town. Weather milder during summer.
Cons
No transport. MRI always down. PCU takes MedTele overflow. MedTele cherry picks MedTele transfers so PCU gets the higher acuity pts and ratio is 1:6. Constant downgrades and transfers to accommodate census so you can walk in with 6 MedTele pts, give them all up midshift (after you’ve done meds and care) then get 4 new PCU admits. Thats 10 pts you will be charting on. Hospital recently started using Tiger Connect BUT most residents aren’t logged in. No pharmacy at night. Not a lot of seasoned staff. A lot of new grads. Travlers orient/precept. No set schedules. Dayshift can float in the middle of the shift.
