Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Stress Technician for a Cardiology Medical Unit in Oregon, requiring an active OR RN license, BLS, ACLS, and a minimum of 2 years of experience.

Details

  • Hospital-based cardiology medical unit setting focused on cardiac and pulmonary stress testing procedures
  • Day shift schedule, 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts (7:00 AM–5:30 PM)
  • 13-week contract
  • Patient population includes individuals undergoing cardiac and pulmonary stress testing (exercise and pharmacologic)
  • Responsibilities include operating treadmill, bicycle, and pharmacologic stress testing systems along with ECG monitoring equipment
  • Travelers may be floated to other departments where qualified before core staff is floated

Requirements

  • Active Oregon (OR) RN license required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • CRASE training required (if not already completed, must be obtained)
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
  • Med/Surg candidates with stress test experience may be considered
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently and assist with patient transfers over 100 lbs using proper technique or mechanical aids
  • Ability to stand and walk continuously throughout the shift

Additional Information

  • Performs pre-test nursing assessments including vital signs, patient history, and medication review to evaluate readiness for stress testing
  • Monitors patients throughout testing, evaluating ECG rhythm, oxygen saturation, vital signs, and overall clinical condition
  • Administers medications for pharmacologic stress testing per facility protocols where credentialed and permitted
  • Documents test procedures, observations, and results in the electronic medical record
  • Collaborates with cardiology providers and the broader cardiopulmonary team to communicate patient status and coordinate test schedules
  • Participates in quality improvement activities, staff training, and departmental meetings
  • Experience with cardiac stress testing, ECG interpretation, or cardiopulmonary diagnostics is preferred
