Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Dept position in a combined adult/pediatric ED, requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

  • Combined adult and pediatric Emergency Department setting
  • 18-bed ED with an average daily census of 75 patients
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
  • Every other weekend required, with additional weekend availability appreciated
  • Holiday coverage required as needed
  • Floating required between all health system campuses
  • Epic EMR experience is mandatory

Requirements

  • Active NC or compact RN license required
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and PALS
  • TNCC certification preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Triage experience required
  • Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
  • Phlebotomy and IV insertion skills required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Charge RN experience preferred
  • Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates
  • 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
  • Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provides emergency nursing care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population
  • Responsibilities include triage, phlebotomy, IV placement, and dysrhythmia management
  • All RNs must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during compliance, with two attempts allowed — study materials will not be provided by the facility, so candidates should prepare in advance
  • Zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
