Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a CVICU position in Corpus Christi, TX, requiring at least 1 year of ICU experience and active TX or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Located in a hospital setting on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the ICU unit
• 24-bed CVICU with a staff of approximately 50
• Patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2
• Cardiovascular and critical care patient population
• Equipment used includes ventilators, Swan-Ganz catheters, Impella devices, and intra-aortic balloon pumps
• Procedures performed include intubation, central line management, bronchoscopy, EVD/ICP monitoring, Swan catheter management, pacers, and bolts
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract
• Every other weekend required
• May be placed on call if not needed for a scheduled shift, limited to that shift only — no additional on-call expectations
• Floating to the Doctor's ICU may be required

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required for CVICU RNs
• Minimum 1 year of recent ICU experience required
• Level 1 or 2 trauma experience preferred
• CV surgery experience preferred
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• Royal blue scrubs required
