Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position in Arizona, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ED experience and a full suite of emergency certifications including TNCC.

Details

• Emergency Department setting with an 11-bed Main ED, 6-bed Fast Track, and 7-bed Observation Unit
• All ED nurses rotate regularly through the Main ED, Fast Track, and Observation Unit areas, and may be assigned to Triage, Quick Registration, COVID Tent, and Entry Screening
• Nurses may be assigned to a different area at minimum daily and can be rotated mid-shift based on patient volume and unit needs
• Occasional floating to other departments in which the nurse is qualified, which may include taking a patient load or performing task-oriented duties
• Night shift schedule: 7p–7a on a 7-on/7-off rotation (36 hours one week, 48 hours the next)
• Flexibility to cover day shift, weekends, and holidays as needed
• 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Active AZ RN license or a compact RN license currently in hand
• Minimum of 2 years of recent RN experience in the Emergency Department specialty
• Required certifications: BLS/BCLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, TNCC (all must be through the American Heart Association where applicable)
• Conscious sedation certification required (obtained through the facility upon confirmation; candidate is responsible for the $105 fee)

Additional Information

• This position is open to returning travelers only — first-time travelers will not be considered
• May be assigned to assist with COVID testing and/or immunization clinics as needed
• Shift schedule may change during the contract to accommodate facility staffing needs as contractor rotations shift
• No RTO (requested time off) is accepted for this position
• The facility relies heavily on contract staff, so schedule flexibility is essential
