Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR RN for a Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring a minimum of 3 years of experience with Level I trauma and circulator experience, and a NM or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in the Operating Room of a Level I Trauma, acute care teaching hospital that also serves as a Children's Hospital with 554 staffed beds
- Patient ratio is 1:1
- Day shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30)
- On-call is required, consisting of approximately 24–36 hours per month; details can be discussed with OR leadership
- 2–3 weekends required per month
- Block scheduling is not available
- No floating required
- Charting is done in Cerner
- Purple scrubs are provided by the facility
- Free parking is available on-site
Requirements
- Active NM or compact RN license required; pending license accepted
- Current BLS (BCLS) certification required; RQI certifications are not accepted
- Minimum 3 years of OR RN experience required
- Level I trauma experience required
- OR circulator experience required
- Cerner EMR experience strongly recommended given charting requirements

- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- COVID vaccination is optional, but vaccination status must be reported; upload your vaccine series record or a signed declination form
- RTO requests exceeding 7 days require prior approval; all scheduling requests should be submitted upfront
- Travelers who have worked 4 consecutive assignments or reached the one-year mark at this facility are required to take a 6-month break before returning
- New contracts and extensions must be a minimum of 10 weeks
