Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of adult critical care experience for a night shift position at a short-term acute care hospital in Missouri.
Details
- 442-bed short-term acute care hospital
- Unit includes a 30-bed MICU and 10-bed Cardiac ICU; ER is not a trauma center
- Adult critical care patient population including ARDS and pneumonia cases
- Works alongside 5–7 therapists per night shift
- Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 18:00–06:30
- Every third weekend required
- No on-call required
- No floating within or to sister facilities
- Special equipment includes Servo U/Avea Ventilators, V60/ResMed, IPV, BiWaze Cough Assist, Vest, Versapap, and Aerobika
- Medication system: Pyxis
- Charting: Epic (experience preferred)
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
Requirements
- Current RRT credential required
- Current BLS certification required
- ACLS certification preferred
- Valid Missouri state license required; license required if applicable
- Minimum 2 years of adult critical care experience
- Proficiency in airway management devices and suctioning
- Experience with ARDS and pneumonia patient care
- Medication administration experience required
- Experience with aerosol setup (mask/trach), metered dose inhalers, and nebulizers (cold/handheld/trach collar)
- Oxygen therapy and ventilator management experience required
- ABG interpretation, basic EKG reading, chest physiotherapy, and arterial blood gas drawing required
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Additional Information
- Scrub color: Ceil Blue
- RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO during the first week of orientation
- Travelers may remain at this facility for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required
- Former permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to this facility as a traveler
