Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist with 2+ years of experience and required IR experience for a combo IR/Cardiology/Vascular/EP lab.

Details

• Work in a combo lab covering interventional radiology (IR), cardiology, vascular, and EP procedures with approximately 80% IR and 20% other procedure types
• Adult and geriatric patient population
• Common diagnoses include device implants such as PPMs and ICDs
• Uses GE MAC Lab, Philips iFR/IVUS, Canon and GE Labs, Angio Jet, Pneumbra, EKOS, Inari, CSI Atherectomy System, Bovi System, Radiofrequency Ablation Unit, Venous Closure Unit, Sono Site, S2000 Ultrasound Unit, IABP, and Impella
• 5x8 hour day shifts from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
• Call requirement of minimum 7 days per month, typically two call days per week for two weeks each month plus one call weekend per month
• Callback time is 30 minutes for STEMIs, with IR callback time varying based on procedure type
• Call team consists of three staff members, including one RN
• Weekend requirement of every third weekend
• No floating requirement

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience required
• Must have IR experience, as approximately 90% of caseload is IR-related
• ARRT or RCIS certification required (license required if applicable)
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• ARRT Advanced Certification, RCES, and RCIS with medication experience preferred
• Skilled in scrubbing, circulating, and telemetry monitoring
• EKG lead placement skills preferred
• Experience with vascular studies/procedures including carotid stenting
• Experience with genitourinary studies/procedures such as catheter/drain exchange, biliary drainage, percutaneous transhepatic cholangiogram, renal artery stent placement, and ureteral stent placement
• Experience with cardiac cath lab procedures including left and right heart catheterization
• Experience with abdominal and pelvic procedures such as mesenteric angiogram, paracentesis, stent placement, and thoracentesis
• Experience with kyphoplasties and biopsies preferred
• Medication administration is performed by RN only

Additional Information

• Assist providers in performing diagnostic and interventional radiology and cardiology procedures
• Scrub and circulate for IR/Cath Lab and cardiology procedures
• Techs begin directly on the unit on Mondays until completion of required Dimensions training
• Unit orientation is 40-80 hours
• Scrubs are provided
• No holiday RTO permitted for this role
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• RTO up to 7 days can be auto-approved as long as it does not fall on a holiday, with anything more requiring facility approval
• No RTO permitted during the first week of assignment due to orientation
• No additional RTO permitted after signing
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Previous Novant Health or New Hanover PERM/PRN/EP employees must wait 12 months before applying and disclose employment history for facility approval
• Current travel per diem clinicians must choose between travel or per diem status, as both are not eligible simultaneously
• Local candidates within 50 miles are accepted at a lower rate
• Travel pairs are allowed if placed on different units and disclosed at submission
• Candidates must be open to floating within or near the facility per policy
• Pre-start modules are required, with acute care roles requiring approximately 8-10 hours and completion required annually
• Modules must be completed using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge
