Description

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with 2+ years of IR experience for a combination IR/Cardiology/Vascular/EP lab.

Details

  • Combination lab covering IR, Cardiology, Vascular, and EP procedures, with IR comprising approximately 80% of caseload
  • Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
  • Diagnoses include device implants such as PPM and ICD
  • Perform diagnostic and interventional radiology and cardiology procedures, including scrubbing and circulating for IR/Cath Lab and cardiology cases
  • Vascular studies/procedures include carotid stenting
  • Genitourinary procedures include catheter/drain exchange, internal/external biliary drainage, percutaneous transhepatic cholangiogram, renal artery stent placement, and ureteral stent placement
  • Cardiac Cath Lab procedures include left and right heart catheterization
  • Abdominal and pelvic procedures include mesenteric angiogram, paracentesis, stent placement, and thoracentesis
  • Additional procedures include kyphoplasties and biopsies
  • Uses GE MAC Lab, Philips iFR/IVUS, Canon and GE Labs, Angio Jet, Pneumbra, EKOS, Inari, CSI Atherectomy System, Bovi System, Radiofrequency Ablation Unit, Venous Closure Unit, Sono Site, S2000 Ultrasound Unit, IABP, and Impella
  • 5x8 hour day shifts from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
  • No floating requirement
  • Weekend requirement of every third weekend
  • Call requirement of minimum 7 call days per month, typically two call days per week for two weeks each month plus one call weekend per month
  • Additional call coverage may be required and is rotated equitably among staff
  • Callback time is 30 minutes for STEMIs; IR callback time varies by procedure type
  • Call team consists of three staff members, including one RN

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience required, with IR experience comprising 90% of relevant background
  • ACLS, BLS, and ARRT or RCIS certification required
  • ARRT Advanced Certification, RCES, and RCIS with medical experience preferred
  • Skills in scrubbing, circulating, and telemetry required
  • EKG lead placement skill preferred
  • Medication administration performed by RN only
  • License required if applicable
  • NC or Compact license accepted pending at time of submission
  • Traveler experience not required

Additional Information

  • Scrubs are provided
  • Unit orientation is 40-80 hours, with techs starting directly on the unit on Mondays until Dimensions training is completed
  • No holiday RTO permitted for this role
  • Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
  • First-time travelers will be considered
  • Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at a lower rate
  • Previous Novant Health or New Hanover PERM/PRN/EP employees must wait 12 months before applying and disclose prior employment details
  • Current travel per diem clinicians must choose between travel or per diem status, as both are not permitted simultaneously
  • Travel pairs allowed if on different units and disclosed
  • RTO of 7 days or less can be auto-approved if it does not fall on a holiday; additional RTO requires facility approval and cannot be requested after signing
  • No RTO permitted during the first week of assignment
