Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Orthopedics Med/Surg position at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Springfield, IL, working 3x12-hour night shifts.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting — Level I Trauma Center and Magnet-designated facility with 562 total staffed beds
- 38-bed Orthopedics unit
- 13-week contract, night shift (18:45–07:15), 3x12-hour shifts per week
- Required to work every other weekend
- Floating is required for all travelers — may float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate facility
- No on-call requirements
- Charting via Cerner (experience preferred)
- Free parking available via permit obtained during orientation
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required — pending licensure not accepted
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- BLS required (AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI cards not accepted); ACLS preferred
- PICC line management and IV starts required
- Telemetry experience preferred
- Cerner EMR experience preferred
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- SSN and date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted with no radius restriction
- Any current or former permanent or PRN employee of the Memorial Hospital System must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
- Travel pairs are not accepted
- RTO of 5 days or fewer is generally accommodated; requests exceeding 5 days require facility approval
- Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Scrub color: any solid color
- Block scheduling is not available for this position
