Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Orthopedics Med/Surg position at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Springfield, IL, working 3x12-hour night shifts.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting — Level I Trauma Center and Magnet-designated facility with 562 total staffed beds
• 38-bed Orthopedics unit
• 13-week contract, night shift (18:45–07:15), 3x12-hour shifts per week
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating is required for all travelers — may float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate facility
• No on-call requirements
• Charting via Cerner (experience preferred)
• Free parking available via permit obtained during orientation

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required — pending licensure not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• BLS required (AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI cards not accepted); ACLS preferred
• PICC line management and IV starts required
• Telemetry experience preferred
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• SSN and date of birth required for consideration

• Any current or former permanent or PRN employee of the Memorial Hospital System must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Travel pairs are not accepted
• RTO of 5 days or fewer is generally accommodated; requests exceeding 5 days require facility approval
• Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays

• Block scheduling is not available for this position
