Description
American Traveler is seeking an MRI Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience and competency on both Siemens and GE MRI systems for a 13-week night shift contract.
Details
- Inpatient and outpatient MRI department within a community hospital setting, supporting inpatient, ER, and adult ICU cases
- Patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
- 3 MRI rooms with a daily caseload of approximately 40 cases
- MRI procedures include abdomen, pelvis, head/neck, chest, spine, musculoskeletal, diffusion (non-brain), gradient echo imaging, image post-processing, MIP, multiplanar reconstruction, perfusion, peripheral MR, spectroscopy, spin echo images, surface coils, and T-1 & T-2 weighted images
- Equipment includes Siemens Avanto, Siemens Sola, and GE Premier — competency on all three scanners is required
- EMR is Epic; PACS system is Visage
- 3x12 night shifts, Wednesday through Friday, 5:00 PM – 5:30 AM
- No call or float requirements
- Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are accepted at a different rate
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of MRI technologist experience
- ARRT(R) or ARRT(MR) certification required; license required if applicable
- Current BLS required
- Demonstrated competency on both Siemens (Avanto and Sola) and GE Premier MRI systems
- Experience with PACS and contrast administration
- Experience across inpatient, outpatient, ER, and adult ICU settings
- Must be able to work with adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations
- Two professional references from a manager or supervisor within the past 12 months are highly preferred
Additional Information
- Third-shift technologists work independently in the department; an operations assistant may occasionally be on duty but is not guaranteed
- Orientation consists of one week on first shift, followed by an assessment for independent practice
- Pre-start and annual online modules are required (approximately 8–10 hours for acute care roles)
- Candidates must be available for an interview within 72 hours of consideration; the manager requires a conversation with the candidate before extending an offer
- Candidates are expected to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- RTO is not permitted during the first week of the assignment due to orientation; up to 7 days of RTO may be auto-approved if it does not fall on a holiday, and additional RTO requires facility approval
- Any previous permanent, PRN, or employed staff of this health system must wait 12 months before being considered as a traveler; facility rehire approval is required
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Royal blue scrub tops and bottoms are required
- This position may extend beyond 13 weeks for interested candidates
