Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 2 years of experience for a night shift position at a Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital in the Cape Fear, NC area.
Details
- Short-term acute care hospital with 733 staffed beds, designated as a Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital
- RRT unit serving both adult and pediatric patients in ICU settings
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 18:00–06:00
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage is required; only 1 holiday off can be approved per contract
- Floating within the hospital or to a sister campus may be required based on facility needs
- No on-call requirement
- Charting system: Epic (experience required)
- Block scheduling is not available
Requirements
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an RRT
- Comfortable working with both adult and pediatric ICU patients
- Active state or compact RT license required at time of consideration; pending licensure not accepted
- Epic EMR experience required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- License required if applicable
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory therapy services to adult and pediatric ICU patients in an acute care setting
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the main campus to be eligible for this position
- RTO is limited to a maximum of 4 days per contract, subject to manager discretion
- Only 1 holiday off can be approved per assignment
- Any missed scheduled shifts may require a makeup shift at the department's discretion
- Scrub color requirement: solid black or black and white
- Pre-start orientation modules are required (estimated 4–10 hours)
- Travelers who have previously worked at this facility must have been away for at least 1 year before returning
- Night shift travelers may extend up to twice before being required to leave for a minimum of 6 months prior to returning
