Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel contract at an acute care hospital in California, requiring both scrub and circulator skills with a minimum of 5 years of OR experience.

Details

• Primary placement is in an ASC outpatient clinic setting, with floating required to the Main OR as needed
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• No weekend requirements
• No on-call requirements
• Epic EMR is required
• RN must be able to both scrub and circulate
• Surgical specialties include gynecology, general surgery, orthopedics, urology, ENT, and robotics-assisted procedures
• Robotic surgery experience (colorectal, GI, gynecologic, neurological, orthopedic, otolaryngologic, TORS, and urologic) is preferred

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required; pending licensure is not accepted
• Minimum 5 years of OR experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Proficiency in both scrub and circulator roles is required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with gynecological, general surgery, orthopedic, urology, and ENT procedures required
• 2 supervisory references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting are required for consideration
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• A valid LA Fire Card obtained within the last 30 days is required
• No open license or background hits will be approved; any prior hits must be disclosed upfront

Additional Information

• Scrubs are provided for OR staff
• Candidate must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility (permanent, travel, or registry/per diem), including location and dates
• Former permanent Providence staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are considered local and are accepted
• All travelers are expected to float between facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in termination of the assignment
• Holiday coverage is required — must commit to working 3 of the following 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
• Any requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration
