Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel Occupational Therapist with at least 1 year of acute care hospital experience and active IN licensure for a 13-week inpatient rehab assignment.
Details
- Inpatient acute care hospital setting with a rehab team of 19 professionals
- Patients span all acuity levels including ICU and progressive care units
- Diagnoses include CABG and other cardiac procedures, stroke, TBI, joint replacement, fracture repairs, respiratory illness, dementia, MS, Parkinson's disease, and ambulation impairments
- Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts (8:00–16:30)
- Schedule is Monday–Friday plus one weekend day per month
- Charting is performed in Cerner
Requirements
- Active Indiana OT license required (license in hand required for near-term start dates); license required if applicable
- NBCOT certification required
- Current BLS certification required (AHA and RQI accepted)
- Minimum 1 year of OT experience in an acute care hospital setting
- Cerner EMR experience required
- 2 supervisor references required for consideration
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Evaluate patients, develop and implement plans of care including ADL training, therapeutic exercises, and therapeutic activities to improve functional outcomes
- Assess and make recommendations for discharge disposition on a daily basis
- Royal blue scrubs required; black shoes required
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Indiana residents are considered local candidates and are eligible to apply
- Travelers may float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
- Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Up to 5 days of RTO may be auto-approved
- Former permanent or PRN employees of IU Health must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
- Current or past IU Health travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health are subject to a consecutive break-in-service requirement before resetting travel eligibility: out-of-state residents require a 90-day break and in-state residents require a 180-day break
