Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with travel experience and Level II Trauma background for a night shift position at a short-term acute care hospital within the Yale New Haven Health System.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital, 426 staffed beds, Level II Trauma Center, part of the Yale New Haven Health System
• Travelers rotate through all areas of the hospital, including NICU and Pediatric units, based on census and staffing needs
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
• Every other weekend and holidays as needed
• May float between main and Milford campuses as needed
• 26-week contract (13-week contracts also considered)
• Charting via Epic (experience preferred)
• Draeger ventilator used in this role
• NICU experience preferred but not required
• Free parking available on-site

Requirements

• Current RRT credential or CRT, plus applicable state license required; license required if applicable
• BLS required
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
• Level II Trauma Center experience required
• Draeger ventilator experience required
• Prior travel assignment experience required
• Candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rates

Additional Information

• May be asked to orient students or new hires as needed
• Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities if called upon
• Flu vaccine is required; declinations are not accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required; religious or medical exemptions considered
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be considered
• Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved; all RTO must be finalized prior to offer acceptance, as additional requests will not be approved after acceptance
• 1 professional reference required for consideration
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
