Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN with strong scrub and circulate skills and at least 2 years of recent OR experience for a 13-week night shift travel contract.
Details
- Work in a high-volume Operating Room with 45 cases across 17 rooms
- Specialties include (in priority order): Neuro/Neuro Spine, Ortho/Ortho Spine, Vascular, Robotics, Urology, Podiatry, Oncology GYN, and General/ENT/Plastics
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
- No call or float requirements
- EMR: Epic (training provided); also uses Pyxis
- 13-week contract minimum; longer contracts may be available
Requirements
- Active NC or compact RN license required (may be pending at time of consideration)
- Current BLS certification required (may be pending at time of consideration)
- Minimum 2 years of recent, acute OR experience required; candidates out of the acute OR setting for more than 6 months will not be considered
- Must be proficient in both scrubbing and circulating
- Strong experience in at least 2 of the following specialties: Neuro Spine, Ortho Spine, Vascular, or Robotics
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Two professional references from a manager or supervisor within the past 2 years required prior to start (pending at time of consideration is acceptable)
Additional Information
- Scrubs are provided (Ceil Blue)
- Orientation consists of a minimum of 36 hours (3 days), not including Epic training, with weekly orientation sessions
- Pre-start modules of approximately 8–10 hours are required and must be completed annually; modules are completed via online learning, Zoom, webinar, and in-person classes
- Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- No RTO is permitted during the first week of the assignment due to orientation; up to 7 days of RTO may be auto-approved as long as it does not fall on a holiday; additional RTO requires facility approval
- Any previous permanent, PRN, or EP staff employee of Novant Health or New Hanover Regional must wait 12 months before being considered as a traveler; facility rehire approval is required
- Local candidates are accepted; candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible at a different rate
- Travel pairs are welcome; each traveler must have their own transportation and be comfortable with potentially different schedules
- Candidates previously in management roles will not be considered
