Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with 2+ years of experience for a post-acute/skilled nursing facility role, with floating capability to an adjacent inpatient acute care hospital.
Details
- Primary setting is a post-acute/skilled nursing facility, with cross-training and floating expected to an adjacent inpatient acute care hospital
- Inpatient only; no outpatient caseload
- Patient population includes geriatric patients with total joint replacements (TKA, THA), CVA/stroke, deconditioning, pneumonia, COPD, and balance difficulties associated with general medical conditions
- Typical daily patient load of 8–9 patients in the post-acute setting
- Coverage required across A, B, C, and D stations
- 8-hour day shifts starting at 0800, with 2 weekend shifts per month (every other weekend)
- First to float when census requires
- Holiday coverage may be required
- Charting is done in Cerner
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent PT experience required
- Active CA PT license required (pending licenses not accepted); license required if applicable
- Current AHA BLS certification required (pending certifications not accepted)
- Ability to work independently and perform patient transfers
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate within an interdisciplinary team
- A copy of your driver's license is required for consideration
- 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
Additional Information
- Floor-specific orientation provided; 12-hour orientation period
- Candidates must not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity Health, within the past year; candidates employed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
- A manager interview is required for this position
- Burgundy scrubs required
