Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of multi-setting experience — including ICU, ER, and nursery — for a 13-week night shift travel assignment at a hospital in Biddeford, ME.

Details

• Work in a hospital respiratory therapy department serving a ~159-bed facility in Biddeford, ME
• Patient population spans newborn to adult, including ICU, ER, nursery (Level 1), and med/surg floors
• Responsibilities include treating pediatric patients requiring intubation and mechanical ventilation in the ER, attending high-risk C-sections, and serving on the neonatal resuscitation team
• NICU and PICU experience is preferred to ensure comfort and competency with critically ill pediatric and newborn patients
• Equipment used includes Dräger V500 ventilators, V60 BiPAP, Hamilton T-1 transport ventilator, Airvo high-flow oxygen units, Neopuff, and RAM cannula
• EMR: Epic (experience required)
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• RT floats to all areas of the hospital as needed, with a 25-mile float policy between facilities

Requirements

• RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) credential required
• Minimum 2 years of experience across ICU, ER (including pediatric patients), and nursery/resuscitation team settings
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS
• Experience with nursery resuscitation and attending high-risk deliveries required
• Proficiency with Dräger V500, Hamilton T-1, Neopuff, and related respiratory equipment required
• Epic EMR experience required
• License required if applicable
• Driver's license required for consideration
• 2 professional references required for consideration
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory therapy services across all hospital units, from newborn to adult populations
• Serve as part of the neonatal resuscitation team and attend high-risk deliveries in the nursery
• Education modules will be assigned during onboarding and throughout the contract via the facility's Learning Management System
• Any color scrubs are acceptable; use of AirPods, laptops, and cell phones on the unit is prohibited
• Candidates residing within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility (in Maine or New Hampshire) are considered local and are not eligible for renewals or extensions
• Travel pairs or groups are not permitted for this assignment
• Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months should disclose this at the time of consideration
